Anointed to Preach

“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me,
because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor……”
(Luke 4:18)

Some of us are shivering and wondering why the Holy Spirit does not fill us. We have plenty coming in, but we do not give it out. Give out the blessing that you have, start larger plans for service and blessing, and you will soon find that the Holy Ghost is before you, and He will present you with blessings for service, and give you all that He can trust you to give away to others.

When the apostles received the baptism with the Holy Ghost they did not rent the upper room and stay there to hold holiness meetings, but went everywhere preaching the gospel.

Springs in the Desert

When I am leaving anywhere by train or ship and people come to see me off, I preach to them. It is God’s plan to me, it is an order. The captain hears, the stewards hear. “Oh!” they say. “Another on board.” The world thinks there is something wrong with you if you are full of zeal for God.

A young man came to me on a ship and asked if I would take part in a game. I said, “I am preaching on Sunday. Would you come if I played?” He said “No.” Later, there was entertainment of which I said I would take part. It was the strangest thing for me. I said I would sing. There was much foolishness and I was troubled, so I cried to God.

My turn came just before the dance, and a half dressed young woman came to take my song book. Looking at my song she said, “I cannot play that.” “Never worry” I said, “If only I could tell you how I love Him! I am sure that you would make Him yours today.” There was no dance. They began weeping and six young men gave their hearts to God later that night.

If you seek nothing but the will of God, He will always put you in the right place at the right time. Voice your position in God and you will be surrounded by all the resources of God in the time of trial.                                     Smith Wigglesworth
