Bible Reading Series
Dear Reader, it is most recommended, if you are able, that you physically write out all verses mentioned below in full, perhaps in a notebook. Not only are these verses helpful as a reference, but seeing and reading combined verses on a particular theme from the whole council of God’s Word is highly beneficial for spiritual growth. Ask the Holy Spirit to teach you and to illuminate His word to you, and to impart the faith needed to be both a hearer and a doer. Remember, He is our Wonderful Helper!
To gain the most benefit from these readings, allow time for thinking on each verse, prayerfully asking yourself these questions, making notes on your reflections…..
Do I believe this? If not, Mark 9:23-24, Hebrews 11:6
Am I willing to act on this? If not, Romans 12:1
Am I acting on this? If not, Galatians 2:20, Philippians 4:13
THE PROVISION IS IN THE PROMISES
“Simon Peter, a bondservant and apostle of Jesus Christ,
To those who have obtained likeprecious faith with us by the righteousness of our God and Saviour Jesus Christ:
Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord, as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue, by which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.
But also for this very reason, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue, to virtue knowledge, to knowledge self-control, to self-control perseverance, to perseverance godliness,to godliness brotherly kindness, and to brotherly kindness love. For if these things are yours and abound, you will be neither barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.” (2 Peter 1:1-8)
There are HUNDREDS of promises of God in the Bible made to different people at different times, many of which had a requirement attached. Below are a selection just from the Gospels spoken by Jesus to His followers. These promises affect the fullness and fruitfulness of a life in Christ, and covers aspects from relationships, attitudes, money, motivations, to eternal security and rewards.
When reading/writing these, please take particular note in each verse of what specifically qualifies the person to receive the benefit of that promise! Are you entitled?
Note: An attempt has been made to separate these into categories, though this is simply to assist this reading.
